Sunnier and warmer weather is returning to the country, marking the beginning of a new series of summer days. According to the latest forecasts from BNT, the nation can expect a gradual but sure increase in temperatures, which will culminate in hot weather during the weekend.
The day began under the sign of predominantly sunny weather, albeit with temporary increases in cloud cover. These will be more significant in Southern Bulgaria, but will not lead to substantial precipitation. The sun's rays will contribute to the feeling of spring, while the mercury in the thermometers begins to rise. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 26° to 31°, and in the capital, Sofia, they will be around 26°.
Forecast for the Black Sea Coast and the Mountains
Over a larger area of the Black Sea Coast, the picture is also sunny, and visitors and locals are enjoying the sea breeze. Around and after noon, a more significant increase in cloud cover may be observed, but no danger of precipitation is expected. The sea agitation, which has often been rough in recent days, will calm down today, and the southeastern wind will be moderate. The sea water temperature remains pleasant, in the range between 25° and 26°.
A calm and sunny atmosphere also reigns in the mountains. Tourists and hikers are enjoying predominantly sunny weather, albeit with more significant temporary increases in cloud cover during the afternoon hours. Although it is not entirely out of the question for it to rain, even in this scenario, the amounts will not be substantial. The wind will be moderate and will blow from the north-northwest.
Expected peak over the weekend
According to meteorologists, the warming trend will continue in the coming days. The wind will be mostly light, and in the eastern half of the country, it will be more often moderate. Temperatures will persistently continue to rise, reaching their peak by Saturday, when maximum values are expected to reach up to 32° to 37°. This is a clear sign that summer, albeit with brief pauses, is returning with full force.
