Monday, August 17, will offer stable summer weather in Bulgaria. It will be sunny across most of the country, and the probability of precipitation will remain low. Daytime temperatures will rise, reaching between 30°C and 35°C in the plains.
Weather in Burgas and the region
In Burgas, mostly clear and sunny weather is expected. The minimum temperature will be around 18–19°C, and the maximum around 27°C. The probability of precipitation is practically zero – about 0%.
The sea water temperature in the Burgas area will be around 25–26°C. A light southeast wind will blow at a speed of up to 4 m/s, corresponding to a light breeze. The sea is expected to be calm, with a swell of about 1–2 Douglas scale points.
The preliminary safety assessment for swimming in the Burgas region is a green flag. Conditions are good for the beach and swimming, but bathers should monitor the flag signaling and lifeguard instructions.
Sofia and the region
In Sofia and the surrounding areas, it will be sunny and warm. Maximum temperatures will be around 30–32°C, and morning temperatures between 14°C and 17°C. No rainfall is expected, and the wind will be light, from the east to southeast.
No data on sea water temperature or swimming flags applies to Sofia. When visiting bodies of water outside the city, safety rules for the specific location should be followed.
Eastern and Western Bulgaria
In Eastern Bulgaria, it will be mostly sunny, with temperatures between 28°C and 32°C. The wind will be light, and up to moderate along the Black Sea coast, coming mainly from the south-southeast. The probability of precipitation remains very low.
In Western Bulgaria, temperatures will be higher – between 31°C and 35°C. Sunny weather will prevail, and the wind will be light. In the afternoon hours, insignificant cumulus clouds may develop over some mountain regions, with no conditions for significant rainfall.
In the mountains
In the mountains, it will be sunny and suitable for hiking. At about 1200 meters, temperatures will reach 23–25°C, and at 2000 meters – around 16–18°C. The wind will be light, and up to moderate in the high open areas.
Sea water temperature and swimming flags do not apply to mountain regions. Tourists should plan for sun protection and sufficient water for long hikes.
Black Sea coast
Along the Black Sea, it will be mostly sunny, with daytime temperatures between 27°C and 30°C. The probability of precipitation is minimal. A light to moderate southeast wind will blow, and in the afternoon, the characteristic sea breeze will be felt.
The sea water temperature will be around 25–26°C, and the swell – 1–2 Douglas scale points. The preliminary safety assessment for swimming is a green flag, including at the main beaches of the Southern Black Sea coast, subject to following the instructions of the lifeguard teams.
