Attention drivers: Heavy truck traffic restricted over the weekend

The Road Infrastructure Agency is introducing temporary restrictions for trucks over 12 tons on the Trakia motorway, Struma motorway, and road I-1 on Friday and Sunday to facilitate traffic towards the Black Sea coast.

Temporary restrictions for trucks over 12 tons

The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) is introducing temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles weighing over 12 tons towards the Black Sea coast. The measure will be applied on Fridays and Sundays on the Trakia and Struma motorways, as well as on road I-1 through the Kresna Gorge.

The purpose of the restriction is to reduce road accidents and prevent the formation of heavy queues of trucks during peak hours.

Reversible traffic at Simitli

To facilitate tourists traveling to Bansko and the region, reversible traffic is being introduced in the Simitli area. On Friday, two lanes will be provided in the direction of Kulata, and on Sunday – two lanes in the direction of Sofia.
