Temporary restriction for heavy goods vehicles

This afternoon, the movement of heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons will be restricted in both directions on the "Trakia" and "Struma" motorways, as well as on road I-1 through the Kresna Gorge (from the Simitli junction to the Kulata border checkpoint). The measure is in effect from 15:30 to 22:00.

The purpose of the restriction is to increase traffic safety and avoid congestion during peak hours, when thousands are traveling to the Black Sea coast.

Who is exempt from the ban?

The restriction does not apply to:

Reversible traffic at Simitli

To relieve traffic towards Sofia, a reversible traffic organization has been introduced in the Simitli area. Today, two lanes will be provided for those traveling to the capital and one lane for those traveling towards Kulata. Drivers can monitor road congestion in real time via the API's interactive map.
