With an official ceremony and a water blessing for health in Tsarevo, the beginning of a project to improve the infrastructure of the fishing port in the city was given. The event was attended by the mayor of the municipality, Marin Kirov, the regional governor of Burgas, Vladimir Krumov, the Member of Parliament Galya Vasileva, representatives of the local fishing community and the administration.
The main goal of the project is to facilitate the unloading, storage and technical maintenance of vessels. The deadline for completion of the construction works is August 2027. The project, worth 3,233,357 leva excluding VAT, envisages the construction of three metal buildings with specialized purpose: a building for boat repair, a warehouse for fishing equipment and a shed for maintenance of accessories. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roofs of the new facilities. The area will be completely improved with new paving, and parking spaces for cars and trailers will be allocated.
The technical modernization includes the reconstruction of the quay walls and the gangway, the utilization of previously unused slips for boats and the installation of a new anchor chain. For the needs of the fishermen, equipment for the workshop, a telescopic front loader, ice generators and freezers for storing the catch will be delivered. Among the key investments is the installation of a modular station for bunkering light fuels.
To ensure the security of the port, a video surveillance system with 38 cameras will be built and access control for cars will be introduced. The municipal administration recalls that the project proposal was prepared in a short time in 2025 in order to provide better working conditions for the local fishing community and to increase the attractiveness of the port area. The investment is financed under the Program for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture 2021-2027.
