Key infrastructure near Varna
A new cloverleaf junction is set to be built on the Hemus motorway in the area of the town of Ignatievo. The purpose of the facility is to provide access to the future industrial zone near Varna. Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Shishkov emphasized that the project is yet to be drafted.
Real construction means designing first, rather than paying before there is a ready plan, Minister Shishkov pointed out.
Perspectives for Hemus and Cherno More motorways
- Hemus Motorway: The route is expected to reach Veliko Tarnovo within the next 3 years.
- Cherno More Motorway: The route selection for the Varna-Burgas section is underway. The government aims for the motorway to connect the borders with Romania and Turkey.
The minister added that for the construction of roads for which there are no funds in the budget, concession models will be sought after the completion of the project documentation.
