Severe road accidents on Bulgaria's roads
Over the past 24 hours, the road situation in the country has remained tense. According to official data from the Ministry of Interior, 22 severe accidents have been registered, in which one person died and 25 others sustained various injuries.
Statistics show a disturbing increase in accidents in 2026 compared to the previous period.
The situation in Sofia and the country
- Sofia: 17 minor traffic accidents without casualties have been registered.
- Monthly statistics: Since the beginning of the month, there have been two road fatalities and 51 injured.
- Annual summary: Since the beginning of 2026, the number of fatalities has reached 273, and the injured are 4,747.
Increase in road trauma
The data reveal a significant increase in fatal cases. Compared to the same period in 2025, when 236 fatalities were recorded, this year there are 37 more deaths. This necessitates increased caution from all motor vehicle drivers.
