Grim statistics: 5 dead and dozens injured in accidents within 24 hours

The Ministry of Interior reported grim data on road safety in the country. See the latest statistics on the number of deaths and injuries from serious accidents since the beginning of the month and the year.

A bloody toll on the road

The past 24 hours have proven extremely difficult for Bulgarian roads. According to the Ministry of Interior, five people died and 35 others were injured in 26 registered accidents.

Since the beginning of the year, 3,589 serious road accidents have been registered, which have claimed the lives of 257 people.

The tragedy near Ruse

One of the most severe accidents in recent days occurred on July 24 on the Ruse-Byala road. Four people died in a head-on collision between a minivan and a truck. The vehicle, carrying six Ukrainian citizens, entered the oncoming lane for no apparent reason, leading to the fatal outcome.
