Interior Ministry Report: 21 Accidents in 24 Hours
Heavy traffic in the country has once again led to serious road accidents. According to data from the Ministry of the Interior (MoI), 21 serious road traffic accidents have been registered on the territory of Bulgaria in the last 24 hours.
As a result of the collisions, a total of 27 people were injured and received medical assistance.
The Situation in Sofia
In the capital, the situation was calmer in terms of the severity of the incidents. 22 minor accidents were registered in Sofia, in which, fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities. However, the material damage serves as a reminder of the need for increased caution when driving in urban conditions.
Alarming Trend: Comparison for 2025
Road safety statistics remain worrying. When comparing data with the same period of 2025, negative trends are observed:
- Number of deaths in 2025: 233 people.
- Difference compared to the previous period: 36 more fatalities among road users.
These figures underscore the need for stricter adherence to traffic rules and increased vigilance on the part of all drivers.
