The official statistics of the Ministry of Interior reveal an extremely alarming picture of road conditions in Bulgaria. In the latest recorded incidents, one person has lost their life, and 25 people have suffered various degrees of injuries as a result of a total of 22 traffic accidents.
The capital district emerges as the epicenter of incidents, where 15 minor road accidents without casualties have been registered. Although these cases have not led to human casualties, they continue to raise serious concerns among road safety experts.
A more in-depth analysis of the data reveals an extremely worrying trend. Since the beginning of the current month, 656 serious accidents have occurred in the country, claiming the lives of 48 people. Additionally, 811 people have sustained various degrees of injuries, which raises serious questions about road culture and infrastructure.
The annual statistics are even more alarming. From the beginning of the year, the national road network has witnessed 3,685 serious traffic accidents, with the total number of victims reaching an impressive 4,590 people. The tragic balance includes 329 human lives lost on Bulgarian roads.
These data categorically highlight the urgent need for measures to improve road safety, increase control, and prevention among drivers.
