A bloody toll on the road
Data from the Ministry of Interior reveals grim statistics regarding road safety in our country. In the last 24 hours alone, 10 serious accidents have been registered, in which 13 people were injured. In the capital, Sofia, the situation remains tense with 2 serious and 22 minor accidents, resulting in four people injured.
Since the beginning of the month, the road death toll has already reached 27, and the total number of injured has reached 633 in 512 accidents.
Increase in casualties compared to 2024
The toll since the beginning of the year is even more alarming:
- 4,288 total road accidents;
- 299 people lost their lives;
- 5,332 injured citizens.
When compared to the data for the same period last year, a negative trend is observed – there are 30 more fatalities. These figures once again raise the issue of the need for increased caution and adherence to traffic rules.
