Serious road accidents in Bulgaria
According to data from the Ministry of the Interior (MoI), the past 24 hours have proven to be extremely difficult for road safety in the country. Within 24 hours, 18 road accidents were registered, in which one person died and another 23 sustained injuries of varying severity.
The situation in Sofia
In the capital, 16 minor road accidents were registered. Although there were no fatalities, the number of injured is significant – 16 people sought medical attention following collisions on the streets of Sofia.
Statistics since the beginning of the year
The worrying trend is also confirmed by official data from the beginning of 2024 to date:
- Total number of accidents: 4248
- Number of fatalities: 298 people
- Number of injured: 5279 people
The Traffic Police urges drivers to exercise increased caution, maintain a safe distance, and strictly follow traffic rules in order to reduce the number of accidents.
