The Ministry of Interior's report for the past 24 hours
Another dark day on Bulgaria's roads. One person has died and twelve have been injured in a total of 12 serious accidents recorded in the country over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior announced.
In Sofia, traffic remains heavy – one serious road accident and 25 minor incidents have been recorded.
Statistics since the beginning of the year
Data from the beginning of 2026 shows a worrying trend:
- Total number of accidents: 1784
- Deaths: 136 people
- Injured: 2228 people
The Interior Ministry emphasizes that, compared to the same period last year, there is an increase of 15 in the number of fatalities. Experts are calling for increased caution and strict compliance with traffic rules, especially in conditions of heavy traffic.
