Severe road accidents have shaken the country

The past 24 hours have proven to be extremely difficult for road safety in Bulgaria. According to data from the Ministry of the Interior (MoI), two people died and 24 others were injured in 17 severe traffic accidents.

The situation in Sofia remains critical: three severe and 18 minor accidents have been registered, resulting in one fatality and two injuries.

Statistics that cause alarm

A comparative analysis shows a shocking trend – in 2026, the number of fatalities is 27 more compared to the same period in 2025, when 196 deaths were recorded.

The Traffic Police is urging drivers to exercise increased caution and to follow traffic rules, especially during complicated road conditions.
