Grim Statistics: Road Casualties and Injuries
The past 24 hours have left behind a dark chronicle. According to official data from the Ministry of the Interior (MoI), one person died and 30 were injured in 27 serious road accidents across the country.
The situation in Sofia remains tense – 28 minor accidents and five serious incidents have been registered, resulting in five people injured.
Data Analysis for 2026
- For the month: 400 accidents, 30 deaths, and 477 injuries.
- Since the beginning of the year: 2,113 road accidents with a total of 157 deaths and 2,615 injuries.
The trend when compared to the previous year is alarming. During the same period in 2025, there were 134 deaths. This means that in 2026, the grim statistics mark an increase of 23 more road users who have lost their lives.
