Grim road statistics
Over the past 24 hours, 22 road accidents were registered, in which two people lost their lives and 28 were injured, the Ministry of Interior announced.
Since the beginning of the year, 4,127 serious accidents have been registered, claiming 290 lives, and the number of injured has reached 5,118 people.
Data for the month and the capital
- Since the beginning of the month: 352 accidents, 18 dead and 420 injured.
- In Sofia for the last 24 hours: 14 accidents, of which 2 were serious with two injured.
The negative trend compared to the previous year is notable. During the same period in 2025, there were 261 deaths, which means an increase of 29 fatalities for 2026.
