Bloody statistics on the country's roads
Over the past 24 hours, 25 serious traffic accidents have been registered across the country. The tragic result is five dead and 30 injured, the Ministry of the Interior officially announced.
In Sofia, there were six serious and 22 minor traffic accidents, in which six people sustained injuries.
Disturbing trend since the beginning of the year
Data from the beginning of 2024 shows a serious increase in traffic accident fatalities:
- Total number of deaths: 226 people;
- Total number of injured: 3,936 people;
- Comparison: The number of victims is 26 more compared to the same period last year.
The road situation remains critical, and institutions are calling on drivers to exercise increased caution and observe traffic rules.
