Specialized 112 Center for Eurovision
During the upcoming Eurovision contest in Burgas, the National 112 System will implement enhanced security measures. The director of the directorate, Krasimir Dimitrov, announced that additional operators and coordinators fluent in foreign languages will be deployed to ensure a rapid response to reports from event guests.
"There is an idea to renovate one of the halls for the contest, where a 112 center will be established to exclusively handle calls from the organizers and guests," Dimitrov clarified.
Statistics and Efficiency of the Emergency Line
- Medical assistance: 27% of all calls.
- Crimes against the person: 23% of reports since June 1st.
- Road accidents: 4.4% of reports.
- False calls: About 33% of the total volume.
Dimitrov also highlighted the role of the eCall system in vehicles, which has already generated over 2,700 calls, significantly reducing emergency response times. Air ambulances are also expanding their scope, now landing directly at the scenes of major road accidents.
Information Campaign
Aiming to reduce malicious calls, a large-scale information campaign is planned for schools and kindergartens, as well as the placement of informative posters in public places regarding the proper use of the emergency phone number.
