Eurovision 2027: Sofia accepts Burgas' selection with a call for transparency
When it comes to "Eurovision", the most important thing is how we stand as a country, and I hope Burgas performs well, commented Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev. He emphasized that the country must take advantage of the opportunity provided by Dara and that the event should turn into a national celebration.
We have no problems sharing our bid, but we have no right, and it is difficult to comment when we do not know how we were evaluated based on the criteria, added Terziev.
Although Sofia was preparing a large-scale concept of nearly 200 pages, the mayor pointed out that the deadlines are tight and the challenges facing Bulgaria are great, which is why unity is key.
The position of the Sofia Municipal Council
The Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, Tsvetomir Petrov, expressed confidence in Sofia's capacity:
- Transport and infrastructure: Sofia has a larger accommodation capacity and logistical advantages.
- Transparency: Petrov called on BNT for clarity regarding the selection methodology.
- Support: The Sofia Municipality remains ready to assist Burgas so that the hosting is successful.
Sofia is planning a busy program in 2027, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's EU membership, turning the period into a strong week for the cultural life of the capital.
