Record-breaking drunk driver stopped by police in Bistritsa
Police detained a 45-year-old driver with a shocking 4.6 per mille of alcohol in his breath in the capital's village of Bistritsa. The case was identified following numerous reports from vigilant citizens to the 112 emergency line.
Citizens noticed the vehicle's erratic movement and lack of distance judgment, which prompted the report.
Teams from the Eighth District Police Department located the driver on Iglika Street. A breathalyzer test showed a concentration of 4.6 per mille. The man has been detained, and his vehicle was seized as physical evidence.

- Since the beginning of the year, 118 drivers with over 1.2 per mille of alcohol have been caught in Sofia.
- 56 of them had over 2.0 per mille in their blood.
- Commissioner Lyubomir Minkov also reported sanctions for young drivers who participated in illegal street races on Lomsko Shose Boulevard.
