A wounded dog managed to unite dozens of people in the late hours of Wednesday – with the hope of saving another life. The signal was given to phone number 112 around 9:30 PM for an animal hit by a car in the area of the so-called “Lakomata bus stop” in the Burgas complex “Meden Rudnik”.
Employees of the “Traffic Police” immediately arrive at the scene. They establish that the dog is having difficulty moving its hind legs, but is not aggressive and, despite the pain, is trying to stand up. Rapid coordination begins between the duty teams, veterinary doctors and volunteers.
Veterinary specialists and representatives of animal protection organizations respond without hesitation to the late call for assistance.
With the support of a police team from the Fourth Regional Police Department in Burgas, the dog was transported to a veterinary clinic, where timely and professional care is being provided to it at this moment.
The case, unusual for police practice, showed how institutions, doctors and volunteers can act as one – in the name of life.
Everyone involved in the action remains hopeful that good news about the recovery of the four-legged patient will come soon.
