Two four-legged friends, one festival: The future meets reality
On August 22 and 23, Teen Boom Fest’26 in Burgas promises an unforgettable experience. A special highlight of the program is the historic meeting between Ruby – a trained dog from the Customs Agency, and Rashko – the first robot dog in Bulgaria.
"What will happen when customs expert Ruby meets her robotic 'colleague' Rashko? We will find out the answer on August 22 at 4:00 PM."
Service dogs vs. artificial intelligence
Ruby, a one-year-old Belgian Shepherd (Malinois), guards our borders at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing every day. She is a symbol of nature and professional training in the fight against drugs. On the other side stands Rashko – a high-tech wonder from Norway that demonstrates the capabilities of robotics.
Why is this meeting important?
- Technology demonstration: Visitors will see a mobile workstation for customs inspections and a portable spectrometer for substance identification in action.
- Social campaign: The meeting is part of the "NeSiNEXT" and "You Are Not Alone" initiatives, which inform young people about the dangers of drugs and gambling addiction.
- Innovations to help society: Rashko is designed to help disadvantaged people by carrying loads and assisting in daily life.
