Three people have lost their lives and 17 have been injured in road accidents in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Interior. The announcement was published on the official website of the ministry and sheds light on the alarming situation on the country's roads. The Ministry of Interior specifies that 12 serious accidents, leading to fatalities and injuries, were registered in the last 24 hours.
In the capital Sofia, traffic seems to have been calmer, although there were incidents there as well. 33 minor accidents and one serious one were reported. Only one person was injured in these incidents, and fortunately, there were no fatalities.
The statistics for the current month paint a bleak picture. A total of 332 accidents have been registered since the beginning of the month. As a result of these accidents, 27 people have lost their lives, and 416 have been injured.
The data for the current year are even more alarming. From January 1st to the present, road incidents in Bulgaria have reached 5468. The horrifying toll includes 355 fatalities and 6828 injuries.
