Since the beginning of the year, 2800 fires have been registered, which is 30% more compared to 2025. Inspector Radostin Radev from the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" notes a worrying trend.

Household fires are also on the rise, reaching 315 cases, while in 2025 there were 230.

Inspector Radev emphasizes that the main cause of the fires is negligence. He calls on citizens to be more careful with electrical appliances, to avoid overloading extension cords, not to leave appliances unattended, and to monitor solid fuel stoves.
