Review of the past 24 hours
A total of 96 fires were extinguished in the country over the past 24 hours, according to the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" (GDFSCP). Fire department teams responded to a total of 153 incident reports.
One person died in the fires, and another was injured.
Serious incidents and casualties
A tragic incident in the village of Golyamo Dryanovo, Kazanlak municipality, claimed the life of a 70-year-old man after a garage caught fire. In the village of Zvezditsa, Varna region, a 28-year-old woman was injured in a house fire. She suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was urgently transported to the Burn Clinic at the Naval Hospital in Varna.
Incident statistics:
- 20 fires with direct material damage (9 in residential buildings, 4 in transport vehicles);
- 76 fires without direct damage (48 in dry grass and 25 in waste);
- 49 rescue operations, including 10 involving traffic accidents;
- 8 false alarms.
