Anyone at the scene of an incident with an emergency situation can provide first aid with an automated external defibrillator (AED), the parliament decided. Locations with AEDs will be determined by regulation.

Individuals are obliged to report the incident to 112. First aid can also be provided by non-medical personnel.

Deputies discussed the definitions of first aid and emphasized the need for additional measures.

The use of an AED can reduce the risk of cardiac arrest by 50%, according to the proposers.
