The Main Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" (GDPBZN) reported an extremely active 24-hour period with a total of 172 extinguished fires and 223 registered incident reports. Experts emphasize that no incident led to human losses or injuries.
The statistics reveal details about the nature of the fire outbreaks: 26 fires caused direct material damage in various sectors. Four were registered in residential buildings, five in industrial facilities, seven in vehicles, three in agricultural territories, and three in outdoor facilities.
In parallel, 146 fires passed without material losses. The majority of them - 96 - were related to fires in dry grass, forest vegetation, and shrubs. An additional 42 cases were registered in waste materials, one in cooking appliances and chimneys.
The firefighters' rescue activities included 38 operations of diverse nature. Among them, eight interventions were related to traffic accidents, 27 to technical assistance for various structures and departments. The teams helped citizens, removed dangerous objects, and rescued animals.
Specific examples of firefighter intervention include extinguishing a fire in an auto repair shop near Haskovo and controlling a leak in the Paradise shopping center in Sofia. Both cases demonstrated the rapid response and professionalism of the rescue teams.
A curious detail is the presence of 13 false calls, which additionally burden the firefighters' work and divert resources from real incidents.
