New mechanism for protecting patient rights in "eZdrave"

The Ministry of Health has announced the introduction of the long-awaited "Public Control" functionality in the "eZdrave" mobile application. The goal is to give citizens direct control over their data in the National Health Information System (NHIS) and to report abuses.

This option was created specifically to prevent fictitiously reported medical activities that harm the NHIF budget and patient rights.

How does the new "Was it you?" system work?

What happens after a report is submitted?

When a citizen answers "No", the report is recorded in a secure environment within the NHIS. The data will be used by the Ministry of Health, Regional Health Inspections (RHI), and the Executive Agency "Medical Supervision" to conduct audits and inspections of medical facilities.

The new functionality is expected to be fully active within two weeks following approval from Google and Apple.
