Expropriation of land for Struma Motorway begins
Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Shishkov announced that the expropriation of properties necessary for the completion of the Struma Motorway has begun. The process affects critical sections near the Kresna bypass.
"When the decision to build the motorway was made in 2013 and we are still expropriating land to this day, the commentary on who is to blame for the delay is clear," the minister commented.
Project details:
- The state is initially allocating 233,000 euros for compensation.
- Work is focused on the start of the section after the Kresna bypass.
- The project has been of national importance since 2013, but construction was delayed by administrative procedures.
According to Minister Shishkov, the pace of construction has changed over the last three months, with efforts being made to finalize the administrative documentation for the Kresna Gorge.
