"Violence is Powerlessness" Campaign: 100,000 students in focus
The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) are launching a joint initiative against violence among adolescents. The goal of the "Violence is Powerlessness" program is to reach 100,000 students in over 1,000 schools across the country.
"The Bulgarian family and institutions are in crisis, and young people often feel like wandering atoms with phones in their hands, seeking likes instead of meaning," stated the Minister of Education, Prof. Georgi Valchev.
Key aspects of the program:
- Expanding the scope: The program, which previously worked with 8th and 9th grades, is expanding significantly.
- Expert support: In October, 28 regional working groups are being formed, including coordinators, psychologists, and educators.
- Trainings: Experts will conduct specialized training in regional inspectorates and directly in schools.
The initiative aims to correct the fundamental problem of alienation among young people and offer an alternative to digital isolation by returning students to an active role in the "crystal lattice of society."
