Increased fiscal control during summer festivals
The National Revenue Agency (NRA) has taken strict control measures during major summer events in the Burgas region. Over 20 teams from the revenue agency are monitoring sales and turnover reporting in real time.
"The purpose of the control actions is to ensure compliance with both tax and social security legislation," stated Hristo Uzunov, spokesperson for the NRA Territorial Directorate.
How are the inspections carried out?
- Full inventory of available goods before the start of the festivals.
- Comparative analysis between the quantities actually sold and the amounts reported in the cash registers.
- Active monitoring of 25 high-risk sites along the entire Black Sea coast.
Scale of the campaign
Since the beginning of the summer season, over 1,200 inspections have been carried out in the Burgas area, with 40% of them resulting in identified violations. The most frequent omissions include:
- Failure to issue receipts.
- Discrepancies in cash balances.
- Lack of mandatory details on fiscal receipts.
- Inconsistencies in turnover reporting.
The NRA emphasizes that control actions will continue until the end of the active tourist season, with each case being analyzed individually for potential risk of tax evasion.
