Over 50 liters of rain per square meter in Petrich in the last 24 hours: Emergency teams on the ground

Heavy rain and hail hit Petrich. Over 50 liters of rain per square meter fell in 24 hours, and 70 liters in Podgorie. Emergency teams are working at critical locations.

According to data from a weather station based in the town of Petrich, 50 liters of rain per square meter fell in the last 24 hours, the Municipality of Petrich announced on its official Facebook page. 

Over 30 liters per square meter of rain fell in the last hour and a half. In addition to the rain, there was hail in the city, and there was also serious thunderstorm activity.

In Podgorie, 70 liters per square meter fell in a single day, of which 40 liters in the last hour and a half. The forecast is that the rain will continue in the coming hours, with the expected amount being between 40 and 50 liters per square meter.

Emergency teams from the Municipality of Petrich, the Water and Sanitation Company, and the Regional Fire Safety and Population Protection Service are at critical points in the municipality.
