Case studies
The 112 system proved its effectiveness through several key operations:
- Rescue operation: A Russian-speaking woman was found and transported to a hospital after an incident in the Boyana Lake area, thanks to the Mountain Rescue Service.
- International cooperation: A signal about a sick child at the Bulgarian-Romanian border was promptly transferred to the Romanian services, ensuring rapid hospitalization.
- Technological breakthrough: An automatic voice call from an iPhone (Crash Detection) near the village of Kaynardzha allowed the localization of an incident on Romanian territory via GPS coordinates, which saved valuable response time.
For comparison, in the previous week (August 7-14), there were 46,349 calls, and the trend for high emergency line workload remains.
