Large-scale specialized operation by the Ministry of Interior
By order of Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, a large-scale police operation against drug distribution and crime was carried out across the entire country.
During the operation, 1.78 kg of fentanyl, nearly 8 kg of dried marijuana, 9.5 kg of precursors, and various types of synthetic drugs were seized.
- Control over nitrous oxide: Over 39,800 people and 3,018 sites were checked, with over 8,000 ml of the intoxicating substance discovered.
- Traffic safety: Over 101,000 vehicles were checked, resulting in thousands of fines and citations issued.
- Economic crime: Auto dismantlers, pawn shops, and gambling halls were inspected, leading to 369 arrests.
The operation also covered efforts to counter street crime, during which 31 wanted vehicles and 306 people declared as wanted nationwide were discovered. The operational activities of the police continue.
