Large-scale operation against cannabis production

Specialized teams of the "Border Police" conducted a series of successful operations against cannabis cultivation in the country. The biggest blow was dealt in the lands of the village of Sugarevo, Sandanski municipality.

On August 14, with the help of the "Aerial Surveillance" air detachment, 1,546 cannabis plants with a total weight of over 3 tons were discovered.

The height of the plants varied between 120 and 230 cm. The plantations were destroyed by burning, and a pre-trial proceeding has been initiated by the Border Police Station in Petrich.

New findings in Ograzhden and Varna

Investigations into all cases are ongoing, with authorities stepping up control against drug production across the country.
