The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, announced plans to create an anti-drone system, which should be "fully operational by the end of 2027." This is part of a broader strategy to strengthen defense against Russia and achieve full readiness for a potential conflict by 2030.

The decision comes against the backdrop of growing concerns regarding Moscow's actions and the potential threat it poses to the security of the European Union. In a comment on the topic, Kallas emphasized the importance of the new measures. "Drones are already redefining war. Having protection against drones is no longer an option for anyone," she said, referring to the ongoing war in Ukraine, where the use of unmanned aerial vehicles is increasingly widespread. Analysts note that effective drone defense is of critical importance in the modern military context.

The European Commission's "Defense Plan" also envisages strengthening the eastern borders of the EU. In addition, the construction of European "shields" in the field of air and space is planned. These initiatives are seen as a response to the growing security challenges in the region.

The situation requires serious attention, as recently a number of European countries have witnessed repeated violations of their airspace. The tension is palpable. US President Donald Trump has called on the European Union to take more action for self-defense. These calls highlight the need for a more effective defense policy.
