Serious Road Accidents: Current Data from the Ministry of Interior
The past 24 hours have proven to be extremely difficult for road safety in the country. According to data from the Ministry of Interior, two people died and 33 others were injured in a total of 26 accidents.
The statistics are definitive – attention on the road is a matter of survival.
The Situation in Sofia and the Country
In the capital alone, 12 minor and one serious accident were registered, in which one person was injured. The statistics for the month are also alarming:
- 16 deaths;
- 309 injured;
- 250 registered road accidents.
Comparative Analysis for 2026
Data from the beginning of the year to date shows a negative trend. In a total of 3,282 road accidents, 233 people have died and 4,071 have been injured. A comparison with 2025 shows an increase of 25 more fatalities for the same period in 2026.
