The city of Burgas consolidates its position among the fastest-developing municipalities in Bulgaria with large-scale investments, modern infrastructure, and a sustainable vision for the future. The new budget for 2025/2026 is a record-breaking one – over 563 million leva are allocated to transport, education, digital solutions, children's and social institutions.
Growth is observed in education – Burgas invests in STEM centers, new schools and kindergartens, 43 new classrooms and 4 new nursery groups have been opened. Projects are starting for the modernization of gyms, renovation of schoolyards, and specialized artificial intelligence laboratories.
Burgas Airport is preparing for 100 million BGN investments by the end of 2026 – projects include the construction of new commercial areas, innovations on the apron, sustainable transport and energy systems, a 12% increase in passengers, and over 2 million passengers served despite the new economic conditions.
The integrated development plan for Burgas prioritizes the development of healthcare, urban environment, digitalization, mobility, ecology, sustainable tourism, and high-quality social services.
According to an analysis by the Institute for Market Economics and local authorities, Burgas is a leader in foreign investment, EU projects, population growth (natural increase –5.3‰ compared to –6.8‰ for the country), with a high mechanical increase (20.6‰, 2nd place in Bulgaria) and a stable share of children up to 4 years old (4.4%). The city continues to attract new residents and investors with comfort, quality of life, and an ambitious vision.
