Radical changes in governance by 2030
The Council of Ministers has adopted an ambitious Management Program for Bulgaria 2026-2030. Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov emphasized that key constitutional changes are planned, including guaranteeing cash payments as an element of economic freedom and restoring presidential powers regarding caretaker cabinets.
"The 2027 budget will reflect these new ambitions – we will cut redundant administration and stop corruption leaks in public procurement," stated Hristov.
Fight against oligarchy and "troll" networks
Hristov pointed out that the SIGMA system is already yielding results against the misuse of public funds. The Deputy Prime Minister was sharp regarding the media environment and social networks:
- The oligarchy is using public resources to take over the media.
- In social networks, dialogue is rendered meaningless by "hordes of trolls" linked to certain political forces.
- Measures against juvenile delinquency are necessary, with the Deputy Prime Minister not ruling out bans in the digital environment.
Education and values
By the end of 2027, the introduction of a "zero grade" is planned for students who do not speak Bulgarian, as nearly 40% of first-graders face difficulties. According to Hristov, the upcoming elections will be a clash between the "normal" and the "abnormal," bringing traditional family values and patriotism to the forefront.
