What is the "I Choose Bulgaria" program?
Applications for Component 2 of the "I Choose Bulgaria" program, which encourages internal mobility, will open in the autumn. The goal is for working people to relocate from large cities (with over 50,000 residents) to smaller settlements (under 50,000 people).
The program aims to provide a calmer living environment with better social infrastructure.
Financial incentives and assistance:
- One-time household moving allowance: up to 480 EUR upon submission of documents.
- Monthly housing allowance: 207.58 EUR for a period of up to one year (for rent and utilities).
- Transportation costs: 4.09 EUR for each day worked when commuting to work in another settlement.
- Incentive for sustained employment: The amount is equal to six average national monthly salaries, following documented 8-month employment within one year.
For families with children under 18, additional coefficients for the employment incentive are provided: 1.1 for one child, 1.2 for two, and 1.3 for three or more children.
Important requirements:
- Candidates must be of working age.
- They must relocate from a large city to a settlement with under 50,000 residents.
- The commitment to find employment lies with the candidate (assistance from the Employment Agency can also be utilized).
