The executive power in Bulgaria has taken another strategic decision regarding humanitarian support for Ukrainian citizens seeking asylum in the country. On July 29, 2025, the cabinet officially extended the existing state aid scheme until March 4, 2026.

Statistical data reveals the scale of migration processes: since the beginning of the program, over 3.4 million Ukrainian citizens have been registered. Of these, 197,580 people have received temporary protection status, and 5,961 have been directly housed through the state program.

This extension is another one - the 13th in total since the initiative was launched in 2022. The government demonstrates a consistent policy of humanity and solidarity towards refugees from the military conflict.
