From the "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" (ARF) group, an assessment of the political year was given in a declaration from the parliamentary rostrum.

The light that illuminated the squares of Bulgarian cities gives a different shade to the political balance sheet of the year, noted MP Yavor Haytov. Hundreds of thousands of Bulgarian citizens came out to the squares and demanded that we collectively free this building from our presence. The sovereign categorically stated his basic right - that of a new election, and we are obliged to comply with this, he believes.

Attempts to drag out the issue with the banal talk of stability and its irreplaceable guarantors only bring destabilization and bitterness in this otherwise completely expected process of political disintegration, added Haytov. "The National Assembly, elected with the votes of one third of Bulgarian citizens, and the government, based on a minority in parliament, had no chance and the agony of this government was obvious. There were different people in the squares, but all were united by the clear will that they do not want to be governed in this way, Bulgaria has not given up on democracy as a supreme value, and this self-proclaimed political elite is not desired in the future governance of the country," the declaration states. According to ARF, trust has been definitively lost. If anyone thinks that they can once again find themselves at the top of the political pyramid with the votes of a minority of Bulgarian citizens, they are deeply mistaken, they also believe.

On the eve of 2026, Bulgaria, Europe, and the world are facing serious challenges; the transition to the euro is a necessary and final step in the integration of our country into the economic and political organism of a united Europe. But the contradictory governance of the country also marked and burdened this process with its own defects, pointed out Yavor Haytov. A quick reaction from the caretaker government will be needed, as well as the construction of a new government that will bring this process to a successful end, he noted.

The war to the East of us continues; the hope for a peaceful outcome is already on the horizon, but it requires the efforts of both sides in the conflict, as well as the guarantees and assistance of Europe and the United States. Bulgaria, as a member of the EU, has its role in seeking a peaceful solution, and a new responsible Bulgarian government must contribute to this, the declaration also says.

We are on the eve of the bright Christian holidays - Christmas; on behalf of the PG ARF, I wish you health, wisdom and patience, concluded Yavor Haytov.
