A busy 24 hours for firefighters: 58 fires across the country
Over the past 24 hours, a total of 58 fires have been extinguished in Bulgaria, announced the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDFSPP) at the Ministry of Interior. As of 06:00 a.m., data shows that fire crews responded to a total of 102 incident reports.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but a 72-year-old woman was injured in a fire in the town of Karnobat.
Distribution of incidents:
- Fires with material damage: 24 cases, of which 8 in residential buildings and 1 in an industrial facility.
- Fires without material damage: 34 cases, including dry grass, waste, cooking appliances, and chimneys.
- Rescue operations: 41 rescue activities were carried out, including 7 interventions in transport accidents.
In addition to actual incidents, three false calls were registered on 112. Fire crews remain on standby to respond to any emergency situations.
