During the meeting, held on the eve of the informal meeting of ministers responsible for tourism in the European Union, Minister Borshosh emphasized the traditionally good and friendly relations between Bulgaria and Poland in the field of tourism. The bilateral cooperation between the two ministries has been developing steadily since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2021 and the opening of the National Tourist Office of Bulgaria in Warsaw in February 2021. During this period, six high-level bilateral visits have been carried out, demonstrating the dynamics and commitment on both sides.
Established as one of the most successful formats of cooperation, the countries annually organize expert meetings to exchange ideas and good practices. For Bulgarian tourism, Poland is a traditional and strategic target market, with over 438,000 Polish tourists visiting Bulgaria in 2023 - a record number, reflecting the mutual trust and growing interest.
During the meeting, the Bulgarian side expressed its readiness to assist if Poland is interested in presenting its tourism potential in the Bulgarian market, emphasizing the mutual promotion of tourism exchange - a key tool for the sustainable development of the sector. Opportunities for joint advertising campaigns and projects focused on the long-term sustainability of the sector and shared benefits were also discussed.
