An earthquake startled the residents of Burgas today, shortly before 3:00 PM. Eyewitnesses testify to a slight shaking of residential buildings, which was felt in many places in the city. The atmosphere in the city suddenly changed - from a peaceful weekday afternoon it turned into tense anticipation.
According to people"s accounts, the slight shaking caused an instant reaction. People are sharing impressions of the tremor"s feeling.

According to information published on the Facebook page of the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), the earthquake was registered in the Tekirdag region, Turkey. The strength of the tremor was estimated at 5.1 on the Richter scale.
