Serious traffic jams are expected on major roads during the upcoming holidays. The Ministry of Interior and the Road Infrastructure Agency have prepared a plan to manage the heavy traffic, including reversible lanes and increased police presence. Drivers are urged to plan their trips in advance.

Serious traffic congestion is expected on major roads during the upcoming three-day weekend, encompassing Bulgaria_q_s Independence Day – September 22.

Motorways and border checkpoints will be under significant pressure from increased traffic.

The Ministry of Interior and the Road Infrastructure Agency have prepared a special plan to cope with the expected road congestion, focusing on critical sections.

The road to Greece - a priority area

The road to Greece, one of the key routes in the country, has been designated as a priority area.

The measures planned by the competent authorities are aimed at easing traffic and preventing major congestion.

To this end, reversible traffic is planned in the Simitli area to optimize the flow of vehicles.

Additionally, to speed up traffic towards Kulata and Bansko, two lanes will be provided.

Increased police presence on republican roads is part of the overall traffic management plan.

Police officers are expected to direct traffic, respond to any incidents and ensure the safety of travelers.

Efforts are focused on ensuring the smooth and safe passage of motorists through congested sections.

Given the expected traffic volume, drivers are urged to plan their journeys in advance, be patient and strictly observe road signs and police instructions.

The busy situation will require extra attention and discipline from all road users.
