Wind energy accounted for 21.5% of Europe's total electricity consumption over the recent period, according to data from the WindEurope Power Numbers platform.
Germany (508.7 GWh), France (156.1 GWh), and Spain (150.2 GWh) are the leaders in terms of wind energy production volume. In Bulgaria, 0.4 GWh was generated during this period.
The distribution of energy based on installation location shows that onshore wind turbines contributed 17.9 percent of the total amount (1320 GWh), while the share of offshore wind farms stood at 3.6 percent (165 GWh).
The development of wind energy in Europe is part of broader energy trends that affect energy security and electricity prices in Bulgaria and the region.
Leading in terms of wind energy's share in the national electricity mix over the last 24 hours were Denmark (68.2 percent), Lithuania (59.3 percent), and Ireland (49.8 percent). For Bulgaria, this figure was 0.3 percent.
