Drivers must be prepared for significant changes in traffic in the coming days. The Road Infrastructure Agency reported planned repair activities on an important route that will affect travel between Blagoevgrad and Simitli.
Specifically, the restrictions will be in effect from 8:00 AM on June 30 (Monday) until 8:00 AM on July 2 (Wednesday). The repair covers an 11-kilometer section between kilometer 364 and kilometer 375 in the direction of Sofia – Kulata.
To minimize travel inconvenience, alternative routes have been provided. For the direction of Kulata, drivers will pass through road III-106 to Zelendol and then via Struma Highway. In the opposite direction towards Sofia, the route includes driving on the highway to the Zelendol junction, then on the third-class road and returning to the first-class road I-1/E79.
The institution makes an explicit request to drivers to exercise maximum caution during the repair period. Strict adherence to the introduced restrictions, avoiding risky maneuvers, and increased attention are recommended.
The purpose of the repair activities is to improve traffic safety on this busy section, with temporary inconveniences being necessary to achieve better road infrastructure quality.
