Minister Grozdan Karadjov participated in a National Round Table dedicated to cybersecurity in the protection of people, education, and society. The event was organized by the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Higher School of Security and Economics - Plovdiv, in partnership with the Council of Rectors of Higher Schools.
In his speech, the Minister emphasized that the topic of cybersecurity must be integrated into the educational system from an early age. He pointed out that familiarizing children with the basic rules of behavior in the online environment is extremely important, as the school system still owes them in this regard. Karadjov shared personal concern as a parent, expressing his fears for the safety of children in the digital space.
According to the Minister, cybersecurity is not only a technological issue, but above all a matter of human awareness, upbringing, and responsibility. He stressed that the greatest vulnerability of digital systems lies not only in software or hardware, but in the human factor.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the rapid penetration of digital technologies into our daily lives and the growing risks associated with virtual services - from online shopping to e-health and public administration. He pointed out that the mistake is usually not in the technology, but in the person - in their understanding and responsible behavior.
In conclusion, Karadjov expressed hope that the education system will respond to this priority and more young people will be attracted to the profession of a cybersecurity specialist, in order to build a society capable of defending itself in the digital age.
