"Our main priority is the protection of the data that feeds artificial intelligence systems – they often contain personal and sensitive information," said the Minister of E-Governance Valentin Mundrov at a conference dedicated to the role of AI and auditing in the public sector. According to him, the value of artificial intelligence depends directly not on the algorithms themselves, but above all on the quality and security of the training data. "If we do not protect the balance between accessibility and inviolability – through anonymization, encryption and clear rules, we risk compromising the rights and security of citizens," warned Mundrov.
"Data security and the sustainability of IT systems are not only a technological issue, but a basis for trust between the citizen and the state," the minister said. He called on the state to be an active coordinator and to work with businesses to build a reliable ecosystem, as the private sector is a source of innovation and technological expertise.
“Bulgaria has a competitive IT sector, working successfully with cybersecurity, AI and big data analysis not only in Europe, but also for global companies,” Mundrov emphasized, according to whom this is precisely the strategic advantage for a modern digital state.
